Oliver! at the NCH November 2023

So long, fare thee well! Pip, Pip! Cheerio!

Clear the stage, strike the set and send the costumes back – Oliver! has left the building. What a week we had performing Lionel Bart’s classic musical at the National Concert Hall from November 9th to 11th. With standing ovations across our four performances, we couldn’t have asked for more from our audience.  We really appreciate your support and enthusiasm.

Theatre makes, and entertainers are often told to ‘Make ’em laugh, make ’em cry, make ’em wait.’. Bart’s Oliver! certainly delivers on the first two – but we don’t want to leave you hanging. There’s plenty more to come from  the R&R this season so keep an eye on our website and follow us on Instagram and Facebook for updates.

We’ll be back soon!

A View from the Bridge – dlr Mill Theatre Dundrum

The Rathmines and Rathgar MS return to The Mill Theatre, from February 14th to 18th 2023, with their production of “A View from the Bridge”.

Eddie Carbone is devoted to his wife Beatrice and his niece Catherine. When Beatrice’s cousins Marco and Rodolpho enter the US illegally, desperate to find work having fled the poverty of Sicily, the pair are welcomed into the Carbone home but Rodolpho and Catherine fall in love, Eddie’s adoration of his niece is no longer couching, but terrifying. Simmering with jealousy and obsession, Italian-American immigrant life of 1950’s Brooklyn colours Miller’s searing drama of tragic proportions.  The universal story of family, immigration and justice cuts deeply in this gripping production from the Rathmines and Rathgar MS Drama Group.  Not to be misses, book early to avoid disappointment

All My Sons

Oklahoma!

Rodgers & Hammerstein’s first collaboration remains, in many ways, their most innovative, having set the standards and established the rules of musical theatre still being followed today. Set in a Western Indian territory just after the turn of the century, the high-spirited rivalry between the local farmers and cowboys provides the colorful background against which Curly, a handsome cowboy, and Laurey, a winsome farm girl, play out their love story.

Although the road to true love never runs smooth, with these two headstrong romantics holding the reins, love’s journey is as bumpy as a surrey ride down a country road. That they will succeed in making a new life together we have no doubt, and that this new life will begin in a brand-new state provides the ultimate climax to the triumphant OKLAHOMA!
